Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System to unveil design for new Fisher House
NEW ORLEANS – The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System will unveil the
design of the Fisher House planned for the Veterans medical center in New Orleans.
Who: Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System.
What: Unveiling of the rendering of the medical center’s new Fisher House.
When: 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019.
Where: 2400 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70119. The event and visitor parking are located on Galvez Street between Canal and Tulane

Background: The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, along the Friends of
the Fisher House of Southern Louisiana, will unveil the design of the Fisher House to be built
on the grounds of the Veterans medical center in New Orleans. Keynote speaker is Governor
John Bel Edwards.
The Fisher House is a home away from home for families of Veterans who are inpatients at a
VA or military hospital. Families stay at Fisher House free of charge to be close to their loved
one while the Veteran or servicemember is in the hospital. There are currently 82 Fisher
Houses in the U.S. and on military bases overseas.
Construction of the Fisher house in New Orleans is expected to begin in late 2019.
